My name is Ealia, and I am the Dance Movement Psychotherapist behind Kinaesthesia.
From a young age, I was involved in dance and the arts, growing up studying music and ballet. I later trained in contemporary and classical ballet at the Greek National Opera School, graduating as a Dance Teacher under Gech Mihov. I lived in London for several years, where I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition that led me to step away from professional dance. Through this experience, I reconnected with my interest in psychology, which led me to complete my Master’s degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy at the University of Roehampton. Roehampton is the only university in Europe that brings together all creative arts therapies, including Music Therapy, Dance Movement Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, and Play Therapy. As a result, while my work is rooted in Dance Movement Psychotherapy, my approach is integrative and multimodal, drawing from these different disciplines to meet each person’s unique needs.

Methodology

Dance Movement Psychotherapy
Dance Movement Psychotherapy is grounded in the connection between body and mind. Through movement, emotions and experiences can be expressed in ways that words may not always capture. Concepts such as embodiment and non-verbal communication help us better understand ourselves and others, while the therapeutic relationship develops through presence, attunement, observation, and mirroring.
Existential–Humanistic Approach
This approach sees each person as a whole, with respect for their uniqueness and lived experience. It offers a safe space to explore yourself, your emotions, and deeper themes such as meaning, freedom, life, disease, death and relationships. The focus is on authenticity, acceptance, and personal growth, supporting a more meaningful connection with yourself and your life.
