What is Dance Movement Psychotherapy?
Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP) is a form of psychotherapy that uses movement and dance as a way to express and understand emotions. It is based on the idea that body and mind are deeply connected, and through physical movement, a person can explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Its aim is to support mental wellbeing, self-awareness, and emotional balance.

Open to everyone
Dance Movement Psychotherapy is accessible to people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. No previous experience with dance or movement is needed.

Individual or group sessions
Sessions can take place one-to-one or in a group setting. Each session is shaped around the needs and pace of the client, following their unique experience and way of expressing themselves.
Connecting body and mind
This approach is grounded in the understanding that emotions and experiences are also held in the body. Through movement, alongside traditional psychotherapy techniques, clients can develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their feelings.

A form of psychotherapy
Dance Movement Psychotherapy is a recognised therapeutic approach where the body and movement are used as the main tools for healing. It is not a dance class and no experience is required. The focus is not on technique or performance, but on personal expression.
Ideal for those who struggle with words
Dance Movement Psychotherapy can support people who find it difficult to talk about what is troubling them, as well as those who tend to overthink or overanalyse their difficulties. Movement offers an alternative way to express and make sense of one’s experience.
Individual Sessions
A safe space to express yourself and connect with yourself through movement, at a pace that feels right for you.

Group Sessions
A safe space to express yourself and connect with others through movement, within a supportive group setting.

Online & In Person
You can choose between online or in-person sessions, depending on what suits you and feels most comfortable. Both options offer a safe and supportive space for the therapeutic process.
Dance Movement Psychotherapy is for everyone, but some people may find it particularly beneficial.
